Overflowing
Madrid, 2024
These garments hold powerful memories, and working with them has been a journey of both pain and healing. Materials are the heart of this project. The wearable art piece I’ve created highlights the intimate connection between my father’s clothes and our bond.
Two souls, two bodies, two garments. The same black lines connect them, varying in density and size, yet deeply intertwined. The holes left behind by illness are now filled with an overflowing love—uncontainable, powerful, and enduring. It covers and fills every gap, radiating strength and connection. Though the voids remain visible, the whole is more beautiful than ever.
I’ve realized that I’m drawn to objects with a history—items that carry life, meaning, and memory, either for me or someone else. While the process has been painful, I’ve experienced a breakthrough, gaining a newfound freedom to express myself through art. The key lies in finding the right tools and mediums to open the heart and liberate the soul, allowing my art to convey genuine emotions.
